Hosting kids’ floral workshops have been incredibly fun. Our birthday girl chose to make flower crowns with her friends first, then actual compote arrangements and a large scale installation last. There is nothing more satisfying than putting a 6” peony in a child’s tiny hand! After a bunch of floral-themed games and edible floral cake, they designed their own teepee fort and covered it in flowers. It is my firm belief that children are the greatest floral designers because they haven’t been taught to be afraid of flowers yet! So many adults have unfortunately been told that they “can’t” arrange flowers. It’s great fun to get to children and bond them with flowers before this unfortunate disconnect is solidified.
